Frequently asked questions

  • How long is a piece of string? Each translation is completely different and it’s difficult to give a guide price without seeing a document. Good translations take investment, however if budgets are limited, I’m willing to work with you to find a solution that we can both be happy with.

  • The standard translation rate is around 1500-2000 words per day, but this can vary widely depending on the type of document. Deeply creative or technical translations can take longer, while more straightforward copy might go quicker. When quoting, I will always give you an estimated turnaround time.

  • Professional translators generally only translate into their native language. Although I’ve spent time in Spain, I wouldn’t feel comfortable translating into European Spanish. However, I’m happy to work with one of my talented colleagues if you’d like multiple variants. Please see my project management service.

  • Yes, as a member of the Sworn Translators Association of the City of Buenos Aires (CTPCBA), I can provide sworn, stamped translations of documents like birth certificates, university degrees, marriage certificates, etc. for use in visa applications and more.

  • I will need access to the file that you are translating (ideally in its original, editable format), the language(s) you need it translated into, your ideal deadline, and any existing translations that you’d like me to reference.

  • Yes. One round of revision is always included in my pricing. However, if there are changes to the original text or revisions are overwhelmingly preferential, this may incur an additional charge.
