Frequently asked questions

  • Subtitling is normally priced per video minute, however there are different rates for different types of content, and short content may incur a minimum charge. It also depends if you would like me to subtitle a video from scratch, or if you’ll provide a script or subtitle template in English. Good subtitles require investment, but let me know if your budget is limited. I may be able to come up with a solution that everyone is happy with.

  • The standard subtitling rate is ranges from 20-30 minutes of video per day, but this can change drastically. If I’m working on an interview with a lot of dialogue, progress may be slower. However a thriller with lots of suspense might go quicker. I will always provide an estimated turnaround time when I quote.

  • I can work with all modern subtitle formats, including .srt, .stl, .vtt, and more.

  • Yes, subtitles can be burned directly onto the video for an additional fee. Please let me know if this is something that you’d like when you reach out to me.

  • I will need access to the video (in file format, not a link to YouTube or Vimeo), the language(s) you’d like the subtitles into, any style guide or technical specifications you want me to follow, and your ideal turnaround time.

  • Yes, I’m always happy to provide one round of revision after delivery. However, if there have been changes to the original video or the suggested revisions are overwhelmingly preferential, you may incur an additional charge.
